Hitchhiker runs as an app inside Microsoft Teams. People sign in with their existing company account – no extra password, no installation, no additional interface to remember. Anyone who prefers the browser opens the same application there.

A marketplace only works if people know what is open. That is why Hitchhiker does not stay inside the app: new assignments show up where people already read – across every department.
When an assignment is posted
… it appears automatically as a post in the Viva Engage community: department, duration, skills needed. Anyone who sees it in the feed is one click away from Hitchhiker – without having known the app existed.
Every Monday, a single post
The weekly summary shows what is open, what has been filled and what is finished – instead of every single assignment flooding the feed.
When someone asks in the network
“Does anyone know Power BI?” – questions like that disappear from the feed within two days. Hitchhiker suggests turning them into a proper assignment: effort, duration and sign-off by the line manager.
Runs through the Viva Engage connector in the company’s own tenant. Hitchhiker writes – and reads nothing.
Data protection and operations
Hitchhiker is developed and operated in Switzerland. Only the data the marketplace needs is processed: profile, gigs, applications and feedback. Who sees which report is governed by roles – managers see their team, HR sees aggregates, nobody sees other people's applications.
